>internet golden age
Terms like this exhaust me, as far as the "internet golden age" that Era has long passed, and that was much before imageboards were even a thing. Sure bulletin boards and such were a thing, but it wasn't exactly what I feel you believe is golden. Now if we are talking about a golden age for imageboards I would definitely say there was one, and I think that would be the 8ch exodus, before that ofcourse there were small offshoot imageboards created. But it was the start of a wave and posters choosing a new start in a site, with a promise that no other site had without some personal pull, that being open creation of boards, which opened up new interest boards, that started as small 4chan generals. Give room to shed some light on a niche interest without derailment or sliding off a catalog. Threads can be up forever.
